I'm surprised that GM hasn't been called on the carpet yet. Makes me still wonder why Toyota is being slam dunked.

I am very surprised at Toyota. I thought that the Japanese were more honorable than they now show.

Sad for Toyota? How about unfortunate for people who were suckered into buying one?

Sad for Toyota if it proves they allowed this to happen, and kept it hidden.

Only the courts will know what is going on here. I'm convinces the law suits are being wrongfully brought against Toyota just to fill the pockets of lawyers.
I'm betting truth be known, most of the claims against Toyota since this media frenzy began are false claims being made with hopes of lining peoples pockets.
They are now saying the recent Toyota Prius incident involving the highway patrol in Southern California was not for real. No problems have been found with that automobile at all.
Give us all a break Toyota owners . . . . enough is enough . . . .

Ah, yes, the truth about this ruthless company is finally coming to light. Of course the suckers will continue to buy their products thereby putting more of these deathtraps on the public roads for the rest of us to have to watch out for. God help us!

huh, I wonder if this hurts Toyoda enough then they can take a huge bailout for the execs like the "American Made" cars! or maybe they can declare bankruptcy and take the good selling vehicles & put them in the new company & call it the same name (GM err I mean Toyota) & then stiff all their creditors (err plaintiffs I mean). oh that's right buy American!!! LOL WAKE UP AMERICA!!

As OldMan322 put it, "The Big Three has been doing it for the last 50 years." All large corporations have been doing it, possibly some for much longer than that. You disagree with that, Look at Reynolds, the tobacco giant and the other corporations in that industry, how about Microsoft with their endless supply of operating systems that crashed, etc.

Toyota will be buried under lawsuits for the next 10 years because of this. This is a perfect example of how the lawyers have caused massive price increases in this country. Toyota will have to raise prices to be able to afford to defend themselves.

We both had GM 05 new with less than 40000 miles, bad hubs. Gm will not cover them. Any parts dealer or repair place will tell you they are all bad in GM cars and trucks. Goverment on them?

I think that this District Attorney has bitten off more than he can chew. This will take YEARS and YEARS to settle and probably cost Orange County millions in lining up 'Expert Testimony'.

Most companies try to hide some things, but Toyota hid a lot of serious troubles far to long of a time and even today are still trying to hide problems. It doesn't look like they learned very much.

It's not only Toyota. A lot has to be said about the manufacturing techniques used these days - like "lean manufacturing". Seems to me that some companies would do just about anything to improve the bottom line even neglecting safety as we have seen...

Ford suppressed/ignored Pintos blowing up in the 70's, and after a couple of decades, everybody seems to have forgotten about it. Maybe Toyoda learned from Ford??

Did they say they were sorry (that peolple were injured)or did they say they were sorry (that they got caught). I think it was the latter since they are still trying to PR out of any fault.

Well it seems as though Toyotagate is getting into the nitty gritty.
They did say they were sorry. Does that count in a court of law?
From the information made public, thus far, it would appear the lawyers have a slam dunk.
Toyota did admit and attempt to fix these problems but it appears that was only after saving $100 million, lots of crashes and several deaths.
The evidence is piling up against Toyota.
You be the judge!
